Hi can someone do me a favor and check the rear lens element when it is set to 3.5? The recent copy I got will not open the aperture fully at 3.5, it is slightly stepped down. The seller told me this is normal and the way it's supposed to be, which seems a bit stage.

Thanks!

I am looking at getting this latest version, with the removable hood. Are they still as good? And is anyone using this on a NikonD7100.

Mine does open up all the way. All the blades retract so they form a smooth circle the same size as the rear element.
When I turn the aperture ring to just about f4, it looks like your photo.

Thank you so much! The eBay seller was full of it but I have a PayPal claim opened that should be resolved by tomorrow. The lens also won't focus closer than 2 feet, I got a bad copy I guess.
