If you find just about any pool of water that's a few cm deep or less, hold the camera as low as you can to it, with horizon on centre... Even if you wouldnt think so, mirror image every time, and because this lense captures so much of the immediate foreground, it doesnt even have to be more than a few meters ahead of you to get the effect. Flippy outy screen earns its keep here! and some genericish scenery shots, always horizon on centre, F8, expose to the right and drop it back in post. Need to learn some new tricks ![]()

At f8 at 1 meter it looks sharp enough but I'm convinced it could be sharper. At f3.5 at 1 meter it's clearly out of focus and worsens the more you head to infinity. Does this sound like a candidate for a recalibration? Hard to tell from what you are saying. I have never had any issues with focus. Perhaps you could post a sample of the images? Brian Buckler

This review mentions it and how to calibrate it and upon looking further it seems that it's common enough. 5 IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com …/55409962@N02/8401204331/ inf Using it at f8 and 1 meter seems to be not so bad at all but it seems F3.5 is not usable and given some of the results I've seen posted with this lens wide open I'm wondering if I do need to calibrate it.

BBSnapshots Goldmember More info | Jan 21, 2013 08:16 | #959 It was my understanding before ever even getting this lens that you never shoot below f/5.6 - the images just aren't sharp. If you want sharp wide-open shots, go buy a 8-15L fisheye. Do you have samples at 5.6+? Brian Buckler

IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com …/55409962@N02/8402372512/ 021 I can live with never using f3.5 if that's the case but my pics at 3.5 are very different from others, I just didn't expect it to be that bad at 3.5 as others have mentioned it's very forgiving given the DoF is so large. I still think it's worth measuring out some distances and seeing how well it corresponds.
