I love how manufactures sneak "HD" into marketing just about anything these days... any lens mounted on a modern DSLR is above and beyond an "HD" lens.

The truth is in the optical coating. And yes they included a removable hood. For me sticking with crop a tad longer but eventually having FF later this lens will stick with me for a long time.

Really it's no different with Canon or Nikon, they will release a version II and sometimes it's just optical coatings to help flare and corner sharpness. To my understanding this "HD" version of this 8mm has better coatings to help fight flare and CA which I've read can be pretty bad sometimes.

And I only paid 299 new, compared to the average price of the first version of 265 new or 200-230 used I was OK spending a little bit more... I mean why not?... drop in a bucket really.

^I'm not knocking you for buying it, I just think it's a funny way of marketing a lens to put "HD" in it's title. I'm sure the new version is better for sure, I would've gone for it but I got mine for $200, so I couldn't pass it up :)

Here's one of my car at work, bored on my lunch break

When I ordered I looked for a used copy and yes if I found one for 200-230 I would've bought it as I tend to buy used more. Thats a great price, looks like mine won't be in until wednesday so I'm planning my first shot with it :)

Just got this lens yesterday (Rokinon) and love it. Here are some shots of my friends cats. F/8, 160th, 400ISO 1/2 power on camera flash bounced off ceiling.

I am also continually impressed with the color rendition from this lens.
This is almost SooC - Imported to Lightroom and removed CA.

sorry, the two I posted did not have profile correction applied.

Here's an example of an image that did get the 10mm sigma profile applied:

Note the distortion along the edges, which I normally crop off.
I get about 75-80% of the frame usable with that profile most of the time.
