Is it common for these lenses to have CA on the edges? I was just looking at one of my photos from last week and noticed some green and purple casts on the very edge.

yeah the CA is fairly pronounced in alot of my shots with this lens. I clean it off in PP.

Adobe Lightroom has a 1-click CA cleanup which works fairly well, and also fine-tuning can be applied to those pesky fringes that didn't get quite clean enough.
Go to the Develop module, expand the Lens Corrections, click on color, and check the Remote Chromatic Aberration box.

That's OK, I think I figured it out. I remember using that tool about a year ago when I had this same problem with a 50mm 1.2L I rented. It too had really bad CA at f/1.2.
