The Kinsol Trestle is located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island (Canada). The last train crossed in the mid-1970s. Since then it has been sadly neglected.
A couple of years ago it was slated for demolition because it was considered a hazard. After much lobbying by interested folks, it appears the trestle will now be rehabilitated, to become a pedestrian crossing over the Koksilah River and a key link in the Trans Canada Trail. Construction will likely start in a few months.
I visited a couple of weeks ago for these shots.
