The Canon 35 f1.4L is nearly 50mm on the 1D bodies. Let's see what your coming up with. Shots from the 35f2 are welcome as well, just make sure your on a 1.3 crop body. Thank you.

If you're considering the 35L, also consider the Sigma 30/1.4. It works well on APS-H and obviously it's a lot cheaper.

go with the 35L over the sigma 30mm and the 35mm f/2 if you have the money. its got sharper edges, its more contrasty, smoother out-of-focus highlights, and faster AF...

I already own the 35L, just wanting to chat and view images on what could easily be the standard lens for APS-H.

For me, "normal" is the 35mm fov, so I use the 35L on my 5D as I don't like it as much on my 1D3. Now the ZE on the 1D3 is something I'm really digging :)

I guess I should clarify normal for me means the ability to frame a full body 6ft person and not introduce distortion. The closest possible on APS-H is a 35mm I believe.

I'm sending my 1dmkIII in 'cause my 35L and canon 50 f/1.4 require alot of micro adjusting. The 35L requires 20+ backward adjustments and my 50 requires 10+. All of my zooms performs perfectly. Went to the camera shop and tested a 24LmkII and 100L 2.8is and they performed horribly needing almost max backward MA.

Here's the 35L when it sorta works right with the 20+ MA.
