I too am using this 20x20 ebay softbox.I bought softbox only for US$40. I will say the mount is very nice and sturdy(also a swivel head which i enjoy) and the softbox (at least from using it the past few months) is very well put together. No stitching or anything has started to fray or come undone. Mind you i will usually always fold the softbox back to its portable 'a little bigger than a softball' size shape. Even still, its retained its sturdyness, shape, and stiching.

I love the 20x20 ebay softbox and recomend it to anyone wanting some more controlable lighting stepping up from an umbrella. Although, since it is 20x20 it wont have a big spread of light like an umbrella, but it gets the job done....

Photos: First one soft box was used as hair light, second its used as key light.

Looks similar to most of the above posts. Costs $50.00 and has an inner and an outer diffuser.

I haven't brought that particular one from that particular seller, but ...............

1) I have brought one from a different seller, and it seems pretty much identical to the one you linked to, BUT, I'm not sure that the one you linked to comes with the "ball head". When I brought mine I found some did and some didn't, you are probably going to want one with the ball head so as to allow you to fit it to a light-stand.

2) I have purchased other stuff from that same dealer before and can recommend them to you.*

Austen.

Hi Charlie. I looked at the images and it looks like it has a ball head. Can you please refer the seller you bought from?
What do you feel about the build quality and quality of light for the one you purchased?

It does LOOK in the photographs that there is a ball-head, but the words in the text imply that it ONLY comes with the "L-Shaped" bracket.

If you notice in the questions, someone has already asked if it comes with the ball-head to fit to his light-stand, and the seller gives a "weasel-answer*".

Sorry, I don't recall who I brought mine from, but they all appear to be pretty much the same.

The build quality seems quite good, they are a "pop-up" design, like the pop-up reflectors, and the round "speed-ring" sits quite neatly in the back of them.

Austen.

*Weasel-answer, See Scott Adams "Dilbert and the way of the weasel"

Thanks very much for the info. I posted a question to the seller about the ball head. Once he responds, I will place my order.

I'm pretty sure that one is like the one I purchased, these "generic" chinese made ebay softboxes are all alike. The ball head is part of the whole flash bracket...but couldn't hurt to ask.
