Pacific Northwesterners!!

I am planning on doing a road/camping trip over to The Olympic National Park in a week and a half or so (for new moon).

Places to shoot: Ruby beach and Second beach, I also heard Point of Arches is good?

My plan is to try to get some milky way shots during the new moon, and try out my new GNDs with sunsets at the beaches, any advice on either for a first time goer to these areas? Gonna be relying heavily on google maps I suppose along with 2 batteries lasting 2-4 days of long exposures for my t2i...

any advice is appreciated!

Went out to see the Kitsap Pumas FC vs. Sounders FC U23. First soccer (futbol?) match I've ever been to.

No way can you capture the action without knowing the game very well... very, very fast paced.

New to the forum. Does anyone do meet ups to teach/learn in the Seattle area? Doesn't have to be Seattle proper.

At Starfire sports Arena? I have been wanting to go to one of the games there because you're closer to the field then Century Link Field unless you got a great seat. Soccer is tough to shoot because where the action is at on the field is where it is moving the fastest. Tough to get the whole ball and and the players in the same shot completely in focus.

Hey everyone! I'm headed to the NW for 10 days. The areas I'll be visiting are: Seal rock state park, cape Kiwana and Bend Oregon ( Proxy falls, Crater Lake and 3 sister wilderness). I will be arriving a day early and wanted know if it's worth a quick trip to Ruby beach or Second Beach for sunset and sunrise ( as that's all the time I'll have before starting my trip)? I've been to gorge several times and love it there! Just thought I'd do something a little different. I' m also considering Tom Mcacall preserve and shooting wild flowers in Dalles, but don't know what the report is on the flower bloom at either of these places. Can someone chime in with flower bloom report or any advice on the beaches I mention. Thanks in advance everyone!

Second Beach is one of the best beaches for sunsets, WHEN you can get sunset out there. I have yet to get a clear evening up on the northern coast, even though I've seen photographic evidence that it happens

Lol! Syndremark, that's what I'm concerned about. I know there's a lot more there to shoot than sunsets, but I don't have time scout the area. I've talked to one photographer today and he says it's really dry at Tom McCall preserve. It's looking more ill be shooting the gorge. Which, is ok with me.

The family and I may be going to a campground along the Oregon Coast (just north of Tillamook along the Tillamook Bay). I have not been to that stretch of Coast in a good 10 years. Anyone familiar with that area? Willing to give some ideas for locations to shoot? Not looking to drive much further south then Tillamook or further North than Rockaway (family trip first photography second).

I plan to scout for a good sunset location, and do some beach portraits of the wife and daughter, but I love landscapes and old building/structures.
