I've been reading through a bunch of threads about canvas printing and we all know that Simply Canvas has the best canvas around. I just wanted to clarify a common misconception about signing up with them. I've heard a lot of complaints that people in the forum tried signing up with them and got to the Tax ID # part and they quit.

Your Tax ID # is your Social Security Number. Use that number and it will allow you to do it.

Just thought I'd help them out as they have great canvas. Who knows, the more customers they have maybe the prices will go down! (wishful thinking)

You are joking, right? This is a joke post, correct?

If not, be sure to follow up your registration with an email containing your bank checking account routing number, your mother's maiden name, and the PIN of your debit card.

No this is not a joke email. This is how business is done. You can either use your SSN or you can use your SSN to obtain an EIN (Employer Identification Number also known as a Federal Tax Identification Number). Google it. It's standard practice. If you don't trust the company that asks for it, then don't use them.

This is not uncommon practice for companies who deal with Pro's without an EIN.

Btw, keep an eye out, they have specials with coupons all the time.

Nope. Wish I did though to get cheaper prints! They're expensive but the quality is top notch.

If you don't have a business EIN and want to participate in wholesale for resale (buy tax free and collect tax from your client for the government) then the business has to have an identity to process the records that accompany the request. My EIN is my SSN. I don't have resale accounts but if you do this is done all the time. I like to pay the tax up front on materials and charge a flat fee for the output.
