Manas AB, Kyrgyzstan - sunrise HDR

hey everyone! just wanted to post another shot that i took while i was out "on the road" flying for uncle sam. we were waiting for our cargo to upload and the sun was coming up over the ramp and i couldn't resist taking the shots to make this HDR.

i'm still trying to find the balance between the "pop" and that "real" look. let me know what you think! all C&C are welcomed

i like it i just think the sun kinda washes out

May be due to the compression but there is a banding around the sun which looks to yellow for my liking otherwise love the colours and mood it creates for the rest of the shot. I don't think you have overdone the HDR.

A side issue I would have crop slightly tighter to remove the truck and plane on the fare left of picture. But this is only my preference.

wow... I like it. I tend to overdue my HDR hehe I am trying to not overcook it but always end up overcooking.

I was wonder why there was no ghosting in the truck??

Isn't the 5D around 3.5fps also? same as the 500D? and you are using 1/30 as shutter speed...I get a lot of ghosting with moving objects

The truck might have not been moving?

Nicely done.
The scene is unusual enough by itself—all the markings on the field + many lined-up planes.
However, the HDR really elevates this image.

I might lose the building on the left, reduce the yellow in the sun, or make it redder.
I would not touch the planes, field, sky—they are perfect.

Very nice capture. But is that a radar tower on the left? It is very distracting for me. Cropping it out would make the rest of the shot stand out well.

Looks more like the nose of a 747, but seems a bit high off the ground.

thanks! the truck wasn't moving and i had the camera braced on the top of the jet. if you find the scene you want, but have to much ghosting in the finished product, then just revert to the 1 RAW file and three exposures.

it's a light tower that resides between parking spots.

by popular demand i went back to the original and cropped out the light tower, 747 nose and truck from the pic. the resulting crop looks a little square to me, but overall it turned out well. i also de-saturated the yellow in the sun and added some more orange and red.
