Which of these would you buy first for a FF body? If anyone has both it would be great if you could post samples from both displaying the difference in Bokeh and IQ.

I've been looking at the lens sample section for both of these lenses and they're both steller.

135L Pros:
Buttery Bokeh
Slightly more reach
f2

100L Macro Pros:
1:1 capabilities
IS
Probably sharper

I'm almost 100% on getting the 100L macro first but I kinda want f2.

I agree. I have them both, I prefer the 135 for portrait work, and the 100 is great for macro shots.
edit: I do not have the IS version, sorry

hmm.. and I was thinking this could be used for portraits

I wouldn't put the 135L up against the previous 100macro but I thought maybe with the circular aperture blades the new L macro might have similar bokeh quality for portraits.

I find the 100L amazing for portraits. Great skin tones, great bokeh (though not as shallow with the smaller aperture, of course), but very very good for portraits. If you want double duty, the 100L is the best there is. If you're shooting only portraits, the 135L is probably slightly better suited for it, but I find the image quality between the two to be very, very close, with a slight edge to the 100L in sharpness, and a slight edge to the 135L is bokeh, but both are excellent in both departments.

Some portraits from the 100L:

Really, these are two different animals, IMHO

I have the non-IS 100 mm macro and the 135 L. I have no experience with the new IS version, but if the IQ is similar the 135 is superior for portraits. If it was me, I'd buy the 135 and look for a good used 100 mm non-IS. I suspect there will be a few available as the new 100 mm IS becomes more popular.

In that case I would probably go with the 100L Macro. For the IS and Macro ability. If it's anything like the non L 100mm Macro then it'll probably be one of the sharpest lenses you've ever seen. The 2.0 is nice, but the IS will be nicer :)

ya I'm going to wait till next week to see if the the 100L is part of Canon's spring rebate(if the rumor comes true). I think it would be nice to have such a versatile lens.

How's the AF speed on the 100L macro? I was thinking about getting the 135L instead of the macro for shooting action, but I also want the macro ability of the 100L.

This is great. I was going to till the end of the month to get the 5d2(using tax refund money) but since they're both on rebate I might as well get them together.

I haven't used the 100L, but my 100 non L macro is as fast as my other lenses.
