I ordered a bag from them, the crumpler 5Mdh clone, on 2-24-10. I checked the status and it says it hasn't even been shipped yet. WTF? Is this something that is normal with deal extreme? Is it maybe actually been shipped just not updated?

Well they don't have the worst rating on resellerratings, but it's pretty poor. By comparison the rating for B&H Photo is 9.6. Sounds like you'll probably get your goods but their customer service, order process and tracking is poor.

I placed an order on the 26th and the status still says "waiting for supplier." I might just cancel the order. That's something you may want to consider as well.

DealExtreme is spotty. When their process works, things are fine. When their process breaks down, you're basically screwed. I've purchased approximately 5 things from them over the last two years and 4 of them arrived about a month later. The other one was never shipped and it took me a full year to get a refund. I wouldn't buy anything from them that costs more than you can afford to throw out the window.

I ordered a cheap screwdriver and it arrived in a week or two. Ordered a timer remote and it never shipped so I had to harass them for a refund. Silly company. I won't try buying anything more from them. If I want cheap stuff I'll hit up eBay.

In the same boat. Ordered on 2/26.

I'm going to give it to the end of next week and if it still hasn't changed then I am canceling my order.

They are definatley running a spotty record. However I have never had something not show, or not ship.

Keep in mind you dont buy from the bottom of the barrel because they are the best out there. You buy from them because you cant find it any cheaper anyplace else. They are cheap for a reason.

All my orders from DX arrived, but as most of you have experienced, it takes longer times. It is also difficult to resolve case with them, like when I got the 'fake' eneloop. They replaced by another 'fake' sets until I just decided to get other item and pay for the difference.

Two orders from them to date. One took just under a month, the other 6 weeks.

Hmm, that bag would be so awesome for a location lighting bag. I might wait till the end of next week and maybe give them a call to get the low down. I just need a bag I can throw my speedlights, grids, umbrella adapters and all the little goodies into and the crumpler 5mdh clone looked great for that.

I just noticed that in my invoice, it says that there's an ETA of 3/8. I assume that means they'll get everything together to ship around that date.

I also recall reading that they'll ship items as they're available. Either that clearly didn't happen, or the 3 items I ordered were coincidentally backordered at the same time.

I seriously wouldnt count on that as any sort of indication that it will happen. On my order they would keep changing that date, usually a day or two after it passed they added a week or 10 days as if the deadline had never passed.

I don't think they actually stock anything.
