Master/slave -- 580/430 question

I tried to search many threads here but did not see the answer to this specific situation.

I currently have a 430ex flash that I use ettl off-camera with cord from FlashZebra.

My question is, if I add a second strobe - the 580, can I use it off-camera with the cord and still trigger the 430 as a slave? If so, will it retain the ettl?

The only references I have found have the 580 as a master on the camera body with a 430 off.

Thanks for any input. I'm still trying to learn the off-camera stuff.

If the 580EX is connected to the camera via an off-shoe cord, it will retain all E-TTL and wireless functionality just as if it were mounted directly into the camera hot shoe. So, the answer to your questions are "yes" and "yes".
