I love these - the emotion in the first is wonderful and the eyes in the 2nd are amazing, feels like you are gazing into the wisdom of the ages!

These are wonderful! I looked at the first one and was like "I love this picture", then just when I thought it couldn't get any better I scrolled down to the second picture.......breathtaking. I love them both! How did you do the second one? What lens did you use? Did you have a background? It is perfect. Like something straight out of a magazine.

Love the first one. Great emotion and feeling. Great timing and the tight framing works for me.

The second one's DOF is a bit too thin, IMO. Eye's could be more sharp. But it's a nice shot in any case.

Wow! That's the best feedback I've had yet :-) Thanks so much for posting. I shot both of these just down at the cafe I drink my morning coffee at every day and they are just kids and friends etc etc I used my 50ml 1.4 for both and the background is just a old green church pew... And in the second one I have just desaturated the shot slightly.... She is such a beautiful little girl with so much beautiful hair, I will post a couple more of her as everyone who see's her just falls in love!

I like the first one a lot, too. Nice crop. I like the B&W and the older/younger perspectives. I agree that the DOF is a bit shallow in the 2nd one, too. Maybe open to 3.5? (A little more open on the top might have been better, too. Maybe 4.0.) Nice job. :)

The DOF in the 2nd one is what I love.

#1 is wonderful. I'm a fan of all types of photography, but the ones that make you smile are especially nice; #1 is that kind of pic. Great job.

The first one should be on a Hallmark card. Great shot!
