I have a 5dmkii and I currently have two lenses - Sigma 24-70 HSM(new one) and the Canon 70-200 2.8 IS.

I do mostly portraits which you can see here - jusay.smugmug.com

I'd like to be able to do some photojournalistic stuff but I think that since I can't afford an UWA like the 16-35 II right now, I'll live with the 24mm as my widest focal length for now.

I'm thinking of trading my 70-200 2.8 IS for a 135L and a Sigma 50 1.4 (I didn't like the Canon 1.4 much) for portrait purposes.

If I did that, I'd have three lenses - Sigma 24-70, Sigma 50 and a 135L.

What do you guys think?

Also, if you can recommend different primes - go right ahead! (within the relevant price range)

I didn't really miss the 70-200 too much after getting the 135L, though I will own it again. Tried the sigma 50 but sent it back to BH for the front focus problems it had. Thought about sending it in for calibration but the copy I received was not as sharp wide open as what I'm used to.
I ended up getting the 35L and I'm impressed with the image quality it and the 135 produces. The setup works great for the way I shoot, but if I shot mostly portraits the 85L would be in my bag.

It's funny because I traded my 85L II for the 70-200 2.8 IS i have now. I'm not sure if I'll like the 35L 50L but I'm pretty sure I'll love the 135L. I just can't afford the holy L trinity yet...

The 135L is magical, I can honestly say its the one lens I will never sell.

I was talking about the sigma 50 1.4, not the 50L. I'm still the market for a 50mm, have not found it yet.

Nice, I might skip the 50L - not sure. I'm seriously debating on doing trading back this 70-200 for the 85 1.2 II and just save up for the 135L.
