That is cool. Thank you for posting.
So the joystick for the pilot is on their left? (the pilot sits on the L right?).

I think I'd stay a co pilot
Seems silly to force people to use their non preferred hand

Haha same here but if you were captain of this thing you'd be making a ton of money.

Wow! That looks remarkably simple for such a massive 'plane...which was, I guess, part of the engineering purpose behind it.

I've flown in two A380s up to now between Dubai and London (there and back), and was amazed at how smooth they were....right up until landing! I'm guessing that as it's built like a massive bus, that's why it responds to pilot input like a massive bus!!!

Thanks so much for posting the shot.

Someone once told me (he flew 757s, not A380s) that the pilot could choose either seat to fly from. Personally, I don't think that's the case, though. These pilots go through enough training to become quite proficient with the left-handed joystick. It's a good thing they put the keyboard in such easy reach. How else can they update their Facebook status while zipping through they skies at 652 mph (488 kt/904 km/h)

It really isn't that difficult to fly with your left hand. When you sit in the left seat, you fly with your left hand. Regardless if it's a stick or a yoke.

Then how do you stick your arm out the window and wave at girls?

I was always taught when flying to keep my LEFT hand on the yoke and the right hand on the throttle. It's not too bad actually.

Thanks for posting this great photo!

I only took a few private pilot lessons, but they told me it's common to fly with a left hand, so the right hand was free to could control trim and the throttle.
