NOTE: I don't like not sharpening RAW for tests, so these all have light sharpening added. :)
NOTE: I'm comparing the lens to the 100 2.8L IS (PRIME) and the 200 2.8 II (PRIME). I am NOT comparing it to the 70-200 2.8L IS MARK 1
Here she is:

IMAGE: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2697/4415506861_d76112d0d2_o.jpg
Here's a first 100% comparison

Both are at 100mm 2.8L IS and 1/180 iso 800 on 5DII (full RAW pulled into LR with a little sharpening).

The 70-200 2.8L IS II is on the left, the 100 2.8L IS is on the right.

Screen capture for now, comparisons to come.

Here it is compared to the 200 2.8L II (100% crops) again, the 70-200 2.8L IS II is on the left and the prime is on the right
IMAGE: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2800/4416351960_293af11254_o.jpg

Here is a full sized Jpeg of the 70-200 2.8L IS II (from Photoshop):

NOTE: More full sized jpegs will be put here soon. :)

Sorry this is such bad comparison, the solar activities along with the alignment of the 3rd moon of Jupiter means that you can't possibly compare these to images as the other lens had a distinct advantage in this situation...... :p

How does it compare to the 100L stealthy ;)

Just to add. It's actually from the 100 2.8L IS not the 100 2.8. :)

What would you like to know? :)

Sorry I realised I didn't put enough information at the beginning. LOL.

One is from the 100 2.8L IS and the other the 70-200 2.8L IS. Slipping indeed.

With hood (posted later too, just putting it here for the LAZY ;) ):

Here we go! Samples that will force me to buy a 70-200 again!

I'm going to freely assume that One of the left is the Mark II and the one on the right is the mark I.

I really want to see samples at 200mm f2.8 - that's where this lens struggled and that's the reason why i sold mine.

Both Fred Miranda and myself agree that the 100 f/2.8 is a sharper lens than the 100 f/2.8 L IS.

Don't see how fred miranda agrees...However, virtually every website review I've seen shows the L exceeding the Classic in sharpness(by a fraction)
