Take a look at my Facebook fan page.
I used the MkII for a cabaret last night, all at ISO 6400 and 1/50 sec at 2.8
Fortunately they weren't moving too fast but the only other lens I had was the 135L which was calling me, whimpering even from behind the DJ box, I would of got it but it would of only taken me to 1/100 and Id still get a bit of shake so saw no point.

If they were moving faster I would of.

I put all the images on Facebook through Noiseware btw, so lost a little sharpness in the process.

This thread is really making me want one!

My plan was to get the 70-200mm F/4 IS and a 135L...should I just save a little more and get the 70-200mm f/2.8 II?

How exactly is that trolling. Unless you're telling us you find a photo of a test chart more interesting than a shot of a person.

I don't believe that for a minute, so please don't throw around troll accusations. It's not needed.

The guy you were talking to wasn't shooting a test chart, it was flowers, which are pretty interesting IMHO.

Anyway, I'd rather see a test chart when I'm looking to compare sharpness. Also... this will be a shock... I actually find it more interesting than a person!

BTW

Trolling is a art.

Oh and you left out a question mark in your rush to post your reply. ;)

Well, keep in mind that only some items are actually listed on their ebay storefront.

In any case, since the ebay cashback is capped at 200$ max, the best anyone can hope for on a 2500$ item is exactly 8%. Anything more that that will be useless as far as cashback amount is concerned.

Best might be to wait for thanksgiving time cashback direct from Adorama/Dell etc and use that as there are no cap limits (Unless you hit the bing annual limit)

Adorama does have this lens on their eBay offerings, but they seem end the ad frequently, then start a new one a little bit later. It appears that they started with around 80 of these lenses, and are now down to 40 something just this weekend. Thats a lot of $$$$$ (and a lot of cashback if all were using Bing)!;)

If you do the math (as you did above) ... 8% of $2499 is $199.92 cashback, right about the maximum cap for eBay purchases, so it works out well!

Congratulations to everyone who got one so far, enjoy it ...:D:)

Any test shots with a 1.4x adapter?

I will have 2x examples tomorrow or wednesday when my TC comes!

I went to NY Camera Video, local place, on Sunday to get the 2X TC but they were out of stock. The guy asked what lens it was for and I said 70-200 Mark II and he said "Wow, you have one of those already?" - apparently their store has been trying to get them and so far only have a promised "couple units".
