Hi folks. Guess you can say that I've been bitten by the Domke bug. I just have a F-5xb which I love dearly. Sad to say, as all you Domke fans know, it's just good for a body and a lens or two at most. Right now, I'm aching to get a bigger bag for those times that I need the rest of my stuff.

I don't have that much as of yet, but here's what I plan to put into the bag:

50D (no grip)
Tokina 12-24
Canon 18-55 IS
Canon 50mm 1.8
Canon 580EX II with Spectralight Diffuser & Yongnuo YN460 II with Stofen
BP511 charger and AA Charger
Gadget bag full of assorted cables and 2 sets of Yongnuo RF602 Trigger & Receiver

In the future, I plan to acquire a 24/28-xxxmm F2.8 zoom and another small prime.

Normally, I could just go to the photo stores here and take all my stuff for a fitting, unfortunately Domke's aren't available locally in Manila (I got my F-5xb via Amazon and shipped it to a cousin who came home for Christmas). I'll be heading to Hong Kong in a month and found a store that supplies Domke's but I don't want to take all my gear to HK just to try it (seeing that I don't have a proper bag to transport them at the moment). Based on some of the pictures I've seen on the forums, I'm thinking either the F2 or the F6 should fit my needs, but then again I could be wrong. Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.

F2, without a doubt. The F6 might do as an F3x substitute, but for your current and planned needs you want the F2.

Thanks for the quick reply, Jon. Does the F2 come with just the 4 section insert? I've seen several configurations in the pictures on the forums, not quite sure which is the standard.

Yes - the F2 comes with a four section insert. That leaves room inside for a camera next to it.

The Domke 720-240 (external link) is the standard insert on the F2. I prefer the 720-230 (external link) 3-compartment insert but that's because I use longer lenses than you've got specced out, and multiple bodies.

There's also the Domke 720-250K insert and Ciesta Flexible Partition, which can be ordered from Korea. Cheers.

Thanks again, guys. Sabesh, I'm more interested in your Domke/Canon strap than I am in the insert. LOL. Thanks for the ideas on the possible configurations. Didn't see that thread before.

Ok I've browsed a few more reviews and random pictures online. I've got my heart set on the F2 already. probably pick up the post office shoulder pad to go with it as well. Just can't quite decide on the Sand to match my F-5xb or the chocolate brown one. Sabesh's waxwear looks great too, but I didn't see it available at the site of the store I'm going to get the bag from. Decisions, decisions...

Oh, yeah. Pick up the Post Office Pad. An essential for any shoulder bag.

Yes, without it, the strap can get painful.

Just to update, I got the F-2 in Sand based on Jon's recommendation. Seemed a lot smaller than I was expecting in person but it just works! Fits all the gear in my sig and I haven't even loaded up the side pockets yet. Also added the USPO pad which was a godsend since I was hauling it all over Hong Kong last weekend. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was cheaper in HK than in the US as well.

Also picked up a EF 85mm f1.8 & a Tan Domke gripper strap to replace my stock Canon strap. Couldn't find one like Sabesh's but I love mine all the same.
