Hey, have an oportunity to upgrade to a 40d from my 20d for a very reasonable price, is it worth it?

I love my 20d, and to be honest have never thought i would want more, but the screen on the 40d is a massive plus for me, and i suppose the sensor cleaning is useful too. Other than that would i notice a massive difference?

Anybody done this upgrade and have any opinions?

Thanks in advance

I own the T2i, but I can say having owned both the XS and T1i... I don't think I could go back to the lower resolution screen. It's nice to have a better idea of what you just shot right then and there.

I'm a 20D user and have been contemplating the same thing. I'm still quite happy with the 20D but there are a few things that a newer body has that I'm finding tempting.
1. Larger lcd. I'm not a chimper, but the larger screen would be nice for histogram review and my old eyes.
2. Folder size. The 100 image limit per folder is kind of a pain if it's a busy shooting day.
3. Spot meter.
4. The extra fps and larger buffer would be nice for when I shoot motorsports.
5. ISO in the viewfinder would be nice.

Never even realised the camera did that, i thought it was just when i had turned it off for longer than a few minutes

Even with the items I've listed I still haven't been able to justify upgrading. The 20D is still a very capable camera.

Increased battery life, better IQ, user friendly menu system, custom programmable settings, better high iso performance, and all the other things you listed. Well worth the upgrade. The user screen is a huge improvement, it actually allows you to check focus, something the 30D and earlier models didnt do well.
