Spent a couple of hours on Friday & Saturday trying to capture these little rockets in flight....its harder than it looks :) The most fun with these shots was the company, with Albert on Saturday and then Joe & Harv on Saturday. Its a blast shooting the birds around here!!

Good ones, buddy. As you already know, it's #3 for me. Have you printed it for Debbie yet?

Have a safe trip and bring home some great images.

Your shutter speed was at 1/3200" and you can still see some motion in the wings Scott. Didn't I tell you how sensational these shots are? #3 is just stunning.

Wonderful action. What were they landing on? I'd love to try this, but can't think of anything they might land on. :)

Thanks Harv...haven't printed it yet, but Deb did like the shot. The trouble is she thinks I only got the shot because you & Joe where there :)

Thanks Joe....the biggest problem was the wrong lens set up (500 + 1.4X TC). Next time I'll use the 400 or even 70-200 to create a greater 'in focus' zone at the same aperture. I was too lazy to go change the lens & get the tripod and you know how far I had to go to do that :)

Beautiful shots, Scott. As a group, you fellows would be tough to beat.

Thanks Mitch....the set up was by a local in-flight bird expert (he has just recorded his 400th species in flight). Cut the top section off a water bottle and turn it upside down to form a type of seed cup, put a hole in the bottle cap and screw it onto the top of a tripod which can be positioned so the light and BG are both to your liking. If you like I can a post a picture when I get home from the office Mitch.
