I have just bought the

Extender EF 2x III... it is very great with the 70 - 200 L IS II... these three testshots are all taken wide open.. the two portraits was taken in a very dark room..

I can really recommend this extender..

Do you have any 100% crops?

The extender looks nice but for that price I might just save up for the 400mm 5.6 for when I need the reach.

Of course, with the extender you keep the IS which is nice but sacrifice some image quality and af speed.

Nice shots btw, quality looks great!

af speed with mine is fast enough, no lag. of course under optimal lighting conditions.

image quality is fine at 'regular' viewing scale.

Very nice shot John. I admire and follow your work on 500px. Thanks for the samples Mikkel. I've been on the fence with the 1.4xII/III or the 2xIII for use at the track next season.

Those look very good Palna. I went with the 1.4x III for a bit more reach for sports and some widlife. I wanted to retain as much IQ and focus capability. Tough decision though.

Saving up for the 400 f5.6 lens like Corey mentioned.
