While out for a walk last week I found a really lovely reserve so went back to take some pictures. Saw this today don't know what it is

first bird is a water rail,you were lucky to catch one out in the open like that,second is a male reed bunting

Wow, cool shots. I really like the little puffed up blue tit, there's almost a chartreuse coloring in there, quite a contrast form the rest of him. I had no idea that your robin was so different from ours. You learn something new every day on this forum!

Agree with kawwauser, you were lucky to see a water rail in the open. Also, they have a weird ability to "throw" their call; very confusing when you are trying to spot it.

Thank you Kawwauser, The hard way & scrumpy. There are a pair of water rail's both coming quite near to the hide. Someone has very kindly put feed out in a small area in the reserve.Thank yo again
