5D classic w/ 70-200mm L 4

Does the 5D classic and the 70-200mm L 4 work well, will it be fast enough for lacrosse games and outdoor swim meets?

I don't own either but depends heavily on the amount of light you have, In the gyms I shoot some basketball 1.8 isn't quick enough, however with enough light on a field f/4 should be fine

Outside you should be good to go. The 5D is fast enough, but not a speed demond.
