I like #1 , the sun flare is too distracting in #2.

I like #1 a lot more. The sky is blown out but I like the composition and the rest of the lighting much better. I would have liked you to get lower maybe and get some of that "golden" grass framed closer. Nice shot.

The second one doesn't really do anything for me. I think it actually would have been nicer without the trees in the foreground as the lighting over the mountains themselves looks beautiful.

Number one the sky is way blown out. Composition is nice but the sky is way too distracting.

Number two is nice but the lens flare kills it.

With a screenname like that, I can't help but think you ride bike Bianchi...I'm assuming if you do, you ride a Bianchi... :) I ride mountain mostly, but do road bikes too.

With a little editing trickery, you could have a couple of decent shots. The first shot is probably easier to work with....replacing the blown sky with something less toasted. We have had so many crappy skies like that over the past several months....I look at it and see it as being normal!

Welcome to the forum....several of us shoot the Parkway on a fairly regular basis....where do you hail from?

The parkway is a great place for photography. :) I like your composition on both, but as mentioned the sky is blown out in the first. You have some flare in the second but that's to be expected to some extent. You can actually edit a lot of that out. Nice shots.

Nice bikes. I ride a Lemond road bike, K2 Razorback Team cross country bike, Jamis Dakota Comp hardtail and a KHS downhill bike. I actually used to build bikes with Brew Racing Frames here in Ashe County.

I cannot help wondering if combining the foreground of the one shot with the sky of the other would work. Granted it would be tricky to get it to look right, the foreground would need darkening while the sky and hills lifted a little.
