OK, it's only in Nikon mount (Canon 'to follow') and not exactly an exciting lens, but it's a start :) They call their version 'USD' and it sounds like 'proper' ring USM (although I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong).

i wonder what the 17-50 will be like then. either that or i will be waiting for a higher quality lens like a 28-75 VC USD. that'll be nice.

It's a nice move for Tamron to finally address a comment complaint about their lousy AF motors. Now they join Canon, Nikon, and Sigma to offer ultrasonic AF motor and Image stabilization in their lenses.

Good for them. I'd like to see a USD version of the 28-75mm f2.8 and one on the 70-200mm f2.8. Adding VC to those would be nice as well. I hope the price is reasonable though. If it costs as much as Canon equivalents, then they may have priced themselves out of the market.

If they can produce a USM version of the 28-75, all else being equal, I would, for the first time, be seriously tempted to replace my current 28-75.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.
