Alien Bees Vagabond II too expensive? or out of stock? Just piece together your own for $170.00 around half the price. I wanted to to have a battery for each light stand so as to keep cords out of the way AND to act as its own weight to keep the stand from tipping over so it serves many useful purposes. Also if one power supply goes out you will at least have more than one on location so worst case scenario you can still power all your alien bee strobes.

I wish I could view the video from work. My question can probably be answered in your video, but what lights have you tested this with? Just the ABs?

Will that inverter be able to handle a b1600? Since it says its a 150-300 watt inverter?

Your video has a text warning about using a grounding rod but you don't mention your approach/solution to that situation.

Thank you, Robert. That was bugging me. Everyone knows Vegabond is used for gluing radishes and cucumbers to metal and plastic.

Since you're obviously just trying to attract the search engines with your keyword-filled thread title, why not just put this information on your own website? The title reads like a craigslist ad.

Whether or not that is true is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. Jacob has always published information, DIY's and YouTube video's that are helpful and offer good solutions, as well as demonstrating that he is also a good photographer.

I see it as advantageous if the search engines pick up the title and links in the post. He's not advertising or trying to sell products or services, so I don't see anything wrong with it.

Maybe that's just me.

I twitched when I saw that, too.

I even sent a screenshot of the video to a co-worker - when the "Vegabond Bag $19.99" heading was up, and the actual bag that read "Vagabond" was right underneath!

Gah!

That's great information, though, I've seen screenshots, but it's nice to see video. I also don't know why I never thought of using the Vagabond bag to make other batteries...

This is great info, I've been collecting components to go for this and I got it down to waiting for the mailman to bring the 600 (1200peak)W inverter. :-) I will be connecting two 20amp batteries together to get a 12v 20amps.

I am not young enough to know everything. O.W.

Ive fired the AB 1600 and a WL 1600 from this inverter so it works fine on my end :)

great question... technically speaking the GFCI unit should take care of the problem 99% of the time BUT just to cover my arse i always put a disclaimer up in case someone gets a hair brained idea to sue JTP cause they shocked themselves over doing something dumb :) Lord knows i've done enough dumb stuff ;)
