I had an idea to shoot portraits against a green screen and then replace it with a variety of backgrounds. Manually I think it would take a little bit of time to do it and save each image sample.

Is there a way to do this via a website or software where a javascript or something similar can just change the green background on the fly? Then a prospective client could cycle through several backgrounds and choose the one they want.

Just apply the transparency on the image and save it as a .png, then you can layer it over your background options easily on your website with a simple javascript.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Just to warn you though, I don't think IE 6 support transparent PNG's. Granted, in the grand scheme of things, IE 6 is on its way out and irrelevant. You may want to check website traffic to see how many people coming to your site use IE6 though. There is a javascript option that might fix the PNG transparency issues...

You can use Photokey, I use it for onsite printing for some charity work I do. It is very very slick and easy to use.

For backgrounds go to tubetape and click on backgrounds, they have magazine covers, etc.
