Weird agency requirements

I have just heard some very odd reasoning from a photo agency for their setting a PPI requirement.

FotoLibra set a 300 ppi requirement "because it stops pornography being uploaded".

I call that weird, anyone else know of other equally strange requirements?

A PPI requirement is not weird at all (most agencies as well as many publishers require 300PPI), but the reason they gave you is certainly strange. It's probably not the "real" reason - someone was just having fun with you!

No, its written into their blog. I was having a moan that it is unneccesary which they completely agreed with, but then referred me to the blog! They claim that pornographers cannot be bothered to jump through all the different hoops they have set up.

I can see where they are coming from. It is a completely arbitrary requirement and they know it but by adding such an arbitrary requirement they are blocking a large percentage of spam-bots. They could probably do even better by being even more arbitrary like 307ppi.

Very strange indeed.....I definately would've had follow up questions with an answer like that
