I have an idea for some time laps photography, but I need some sort of software that will let me turn the still images into a video and be put on a dvd.

I was hoping someone here could recommend something. :D Preferably something open source and free.

And eventually when I get a canon 5dmII I will need something that will let me edit the video. It would be nice if that software will work with that to.

What OS are you using? Windows Movie Maker is a free app that may help.

Windows Vista. :) I do have access to windows 8 or what ever the new name is though.

I like the idea of getting a mac, but I just cant justify the cost, especially since the hardware is part pc now. : )

Did Windows Movie Maker come with windows vista or is it something I have to download?

Its a bit sad, I use to know everything about my windows, what programs it had, latest versions.

I was able to get Anime Studio for free a week or so ago, but it doesnt seem to let me do much in ways of videos. I can put pictures into frames, but there doesnt seem to be a way to change how long each frame lasts for, and having to load every single image manually takes forever.

I found windows movie maker! :) took a while to discover how to change the default delay between pictures, but its sweet that you can drag and click a pile of images. I havent tested a dvd made from it yet, but it looks to do what I need to do.

Now to find some royalty license music. :) Anyone have any good links?

Glad you could get hooked up! Sometimes free ain't so bad:)!

I'm not sure about the royalty-free music -- are there "stock music" companies like there are "stock photography" companies?
