I'm trying to connect CTR-301P using the PC cord to the 580exII, it doesn't seem to be triggering the flash. It works fine if I connect it to the hot shoe.

Reason for using the PC sync is that I'm trying to connect 2 flashes to one receiver.

I think it works using cactus trigger V2. ( I had 2 flashes triggered by 1 v2 receiver)

thanks

One possibility is that the 580EX II is set to Master and Manual modes: Canon disables the PC-sync port when that combination is set.

I tried retiring, but gave it up - it's a dead end
