Just in case anyone is interested, the Paul C Buff company has released "version 29" of the firmware for the CyberCommander.

Today, we are announcing the availability of Cyber Commander version 29 firmware which not only addresses some operational issues, but also adds some functions not available on previous versions that will enhance the use of your Cyber Commander. For instructions on downloading and installing the update, please visit this link, scroll down and click on the "Firmware Updates" tab. http://www.paulcbuff.com/pcb2009/cyberc (external link) ... tions.html All you will need to perform the update is a new MicroSD card (2GB or smaller), a computer with internet access, and a card reader capable of reading and writing to the MicroSD card.

I just made the update without any issues. The instructions on the update site were clear and complete. You will have to download the update and unzip it down to the PCBUFF folder. It's good to have a second microSD card, but it's not necessary.

Remember to pull one of the batteries before you pull the old microSD card out of the CC--that's the only way to fully cut the power.

I put my old microSD card in the computer and copied the whole PCBUFF folder to it. If you didn't leave a backup on your computer, don't copy the entire PCBUFF folder to the card, just copy the subfolder containing the update. But it's better to have made a backup.

Remember to have pulled one of the batteries before you replace the microSD card. After you click it home, replace the battery. Immediately, the update process will begin, with the screen flashing white numerous times for about 30 seconds, then ending with the screen on for a few seconds until it times out.

I haven't gotten too far into it to discover any changes except a new "Refresh" option on the flashmeter screen for the left button. My CC had the original firmware (being serial #001101).
