Took some firework photos at the local stadium of the annual show. I thought it would be cool to light the tower with a couple of 550's on pocket wizards. So I parked in my shooting spot and walked the stands with 550's and PW's velcroed to them up to the bottom of the tower.

Well, I evidentally crossed an imaginary boundary into sector 12 delta 4 and tripped the keen senses of a local member of the fire marshall's posse. She, with radio in hand, came over and asked me, ever so sternly, "Sir, can you explain yourself?"

Heck, that's a lot to ask. Well, I gave it a shot, showed my credentials and tried to explain the meaning of remote to her. She kept telling me I could not stand in the safe zone. 15 minutes to the show. I assured her I would not be there, and they were not responsible for damage to my flashes. I flipped them on and walked back to the truck to set up.

5 minutes to show. Now the local PD is patroling the safe zone looking for poeple, etc. Bike mounted coppers with vision for things out of the ordinary. You guessed it. I look up and see Ponch and Jon circling one of my lights. Hmmm, some strange force came over me that said "it is time to do some tests". pop, pop, pop go the 550's.

Ponch and Jon realized they were flashes and left the scene.

One of the shots is on my homepage: www.dmtphoto.com (external link)

Interesting story, but too much trouble to search the website for the pic. Please post it here.

In today's world, remote elctronics are a frightening thing. In Iraq they call them IED's.
