Well... https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=273817

To save you time reading the whole thread, in the end it turns out that the old lady hadn't been wearing her glasses...

(And to be fair, Andrushka said ONE of the worst, not THE worst.)

Geoff
All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?

If everybody donates, can adorama give him a deal on a replacement?

Surely Adorama can "fix it". THINK OF THE PR.

It would make me want to shop at adorama more, and i would definately tell everybody i work with at studios, to shop there.

There's a very large community of photographers in Hong Kong. I could definitely spread the word. Adorama isn't that popular in Hong Kong, but they could make a lot of money from the masses (and I mean masses) of Hong Kong DSLR enthusiasts.

I've actually been in contact with Helen and we're working on seeing what Adorama may be able to do with us. I'm not expecting Adorama to donate a lens or anything, but I'm hoping they can help us get this straightened out.

I'm trying to figure out a way to collect Paypal donations that I can set a target and cut-off with. I'm not sure if it is possible, but if anyone knows a way to do it I would very much appreciate any ideas.

Since I know that BucketMan won't accept any money from anyone here, I am working on setting up a way that anyone that wants to can contribute to buying a new lens for him can. It will be set up so that everyone can be sure that the money is only going towards a new lens for him.

Hopefully I'll find something out in the next 24 hours. I ask that no one else set up a fund until I report back.

This is very kind of you Derek .. unreal .. I'm just blown away with this entire community!

I'd like to also see this thread sent to Canon .. who know what would happen!
You're all a bunch of incredible people .. and please, count me in ..
I may not be able to donate alot .. but I'm in for "the cause" ..

Again .. the folks at Canon should read this entire thread! Incredible people!
This has really touched me in more ways then I can possibly describe ..

BucketMan .. what can I say? I'm speechless .. The ball's in your court dude .. ;)
