I would like to report that after an epic battle with Canon USA my 7D will finally be replaced. My canon 7D would give an ERR message in cold weather and then go dead. After that it would not power up. After three trips to Canon and an ongoing battle that lasted almost three weeks and involved many people they agreed to replace the camera. It was not easy. I had to provide them with allot of evidence from allot of people in my area who use the camera under similar comditions but they finally agreed. Now I can get back to taking pictures.

Glad they did the right thing. There are lemons in every electronic product.

Congrats on getting it replaced! Three weeks isn't too bad though, I have heard experiences like this that lasted 6 months or more!

The title of this thread had me fooled.....

But, that's great news, I went through a similar battle with my 1st 5Dmk2, took me 2 months and 3 trips to Canon before they sent me a new body. The Bonus was....All they wanted was the 1st body back, no battery, no strap, no charger, no box, so I had 2 of everything:)
Now that I just traded my 5Dmk2 for a 1Dmk3 I can sell off all the extras and hopefully afford a backup battery for the mk3

Thats great they finally replaced it. I agree with the lemons. Were so lucky to live in this age of PC's where we could read up on the calibrating and this and that. Imagine 30 years ago when u had to send in mails and wait for ever. Or just suck it up and shoot the camera u got.
