Do you use a lens leash?

I just got one today. I was in the habit of sticking my lens cap in my back pocket, but that cost me precious seconds, so I picked up a lens leash from the local camera shop.

Lens cap comes off the lens into the compartment where the lens came out of.

Good in theory but having the lens caps swinging around is annoying especially when you're trying to take an overhead shot and it keeps getting in front of the lens. I use lens hoods on all lenses and never attach the lens cap unless I'm either removing the lens from teh camera or putting the camera away at the end of the day.

I hate the idea of lens caps swinging and clattering around my camera and view.
No, I have no use for the tethers; they only put unnecessary stuff in the way of my shooting.

I find it neither convenient, nor useful.

More annoying than useful. My lens cap goes in my bag until I'm done shooting with that particular lens.

My caps stay in the bag. If it is out of the bag it has to be ready. Keep the hood on and go with it.

I use one. my S2 had one from the get-go, so I guess I got used to it

I'll use mine for a while and see how I like it and if it gets annoying, I'll take it off.

I bought a couple but havent used them yet, so I'm not answering.

Bought one, but did not like the swinging. Keep them in my pocket. At least they do not bother me there.

those things drive me absolutely insane

Cap on a leash is like the clapper on a bell...clink-clink-clink

and (unlike the clapper on a bell) it very visibly swings, distracting you and the subject, and the wind blows it as well to move it more.

I put a B+W MRC filter on a new lens, and the front cap goes into its product box, never to be seen again unless/until the lens needs to be shipped for service, or to its new owner. One less thing to get in my way.

i've only seen Tourist uses them.
