I have looked around on google and POTN. For some reason, the pics I take with the 1D2, and today when I shot with some ones 5D2, I can see previews of them, thumbnail icons if you will of each pic.

With my 7D-all I see is a CR2 thumbnail with a little aperture picture on it....

Any ideas?

I am running a MacBook Pro(pre unibody).

What photo editing program are you using to view them?

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Sounds like a driver type issue to me. Does the 7D use a newer type of raw?

Make sure that you have the latest RAW compatibility update.

I think 3.1 is the latest -> http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1007 (external link)

You need a minimum of 2.7 for support of the 7D -> http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3825 (external link)

* note: this assumes that you're running 10.6, although the RAW update make work on older versions as well (I'm not sure).

I am just viewing them on the desktop, in the finder. the files out of 1Dmark 2 and 5D mark 2 can be previewed/there is a thumbnail of what the picture is.

Yeah, you need the RAW update. Give that a try and let us know how it works.

Are you shooting in sraw? Until recently I couldn't see sraw taken with my 5D II but I could see the regular raw file.

When's the last time you updated your Mac software? OS X 10.5 should support 7D files.

The camera raw updates from Apple are at the OS level. If you're running a current version of Leopard or Snow Leopard you should be able to view the thumbnails in finder.
