I put an APB on facebook for a volunteer to let me play with some new lighting....and I got the lovely miss Ally!

I know the bottom catchlights are a bit off....first time using the reflector.

Fab! My only niggle is the background in number 3, needs a bit of cloning in my opinion

You did each other justice, in my opinion. I Love #1 and the conversion. My only critique would be the same facial expression throughout. But still like them a lot.

#3 is part of the background. It's a whitewashed brick. ;)

Like I said....just messing with lighting. Not a long shoot by any means.

I think they are really great, but will parents buy photos of their kids not (or barely) smiling? Just wondering as I'm hoping to do senior portraits this summer.

I think the first one is superb. Even with the hot spot on the cheek, it's still a wonderful headshot.

I think any of the three are saleable. In my brief experience, I have had it both ways. Sometimes the parent will even pick a non-smile vs. a cheeky grin. I am no expert at retrieving the perfect smile, another thing on the list to fix.

I used a reflector much like the larry peters eyelighter which is a curved reflector. It was my first time using it and I had it in the wrong spot.

lovely shots. # 3 background is a bit distracting, as it is a bit non-comitting, but all in all, very nicely done imo...could you show/ describe the lighting set-up?
