Yeah, just finished building an indoor studio. Space is cramped, so I'm limited in what I can do. However, I've got about 9x24 or so in shooting space, so it's not too bad. Below is a picture of me standing in the space

My problem, as you can probably see is light spillage. I have two lights blowing the background, and one on the subject(me).

My question is this: What is the best way to eliminate light spill?

I have two options as I see it:

1. Put black cloth on the walls and ceiling to remove reflected light.

2. Create some black panels and surround the subject with them to block light.

Which do you think would be best for me?

Instead of trying to cover huge areas where there is reflected light, why not just block the source of the light that is being reflected (ie. flag/gobo)?

Ah yes, already have that planned, but there's still quit a bit of spill. The entire room is basically just a white box, so it's really hard to stop it bouncing everywhere.

Use some el cheapo clothing racks with black sheets draped over em as "walls".
The ceiling issue can't be helped, unless you wanna paint it, in which case you might as well paint the whole space. Usually the lights aren't aimed at the celing though, so it shouldn;t pose that much of a problem.

I'm thinking of sheets myself, but I'm also thinking of pinning one to the ceiling using some hooks so it can be mounted and unmounted quickly.

Good to know I'm on the right track.
