Looking for some insight...I cant make a decision as to whether I should upgrade to the 5D Mark II or purchase more glass for my 50D. I shoot landscapes and portraits mainly. I rarely, if ever use high speed continuous shooting. Im leaning towards purchasing the 5D cause Id love to move to full frame. Currently I shoot with my 28-135, 50 1.8 and 17-40L. My budget is right around 2500. If I didnt buy the 5D Id love to get a 50mm 1.2 but not sure what else. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Just wanna make sure I make the right decision and I know a lot of you have already been through the decision Im about to make. Thanks in advance! :)

I went from a 40D to a 5D an thought the upgrade was significant. That is still an option for you and leaves you room to get some better glass.

The difference could get you an 85/1.8 and another lens or the 135L which would be very nice for portraits.

How wide do you use your 17-40 ? Do you wish you had something wider ? If no......
sell all your zooms and buy a 5D and 24-105

If you go for the 5DII, sell the 28-135 and buy the 85/1.8, to stay within your budget, more or less.

Anyway, that's what I would probably do.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

Meh, how much of an itch do you have? The 5D2 is a superb camera and if you itch for it, you will buy it sooner or later.

If you want to save money over the 50L have you considered the Sigma 50 1.4? =)

Maybe consider the 5d "classic" as it's ~$1000 so you still have $1500 for the 50mm 1.2L lens. The 17-40 is a great landscape lens on a FF. The sigma 50mm 1.4 is quite impressive too though I'm not sure how it compares to the L as I haven't used the latter. But I like to suggest buying glass first then bodies later. The 5dmkII will only come down in price whereas with lenses they don't depreciate nearly as fast. In fact a lot of lenses seem to increase in price. I bought the 70-200mm f4 non IS for $420 and sold it late last year for ~$550.
