nice job at making it black but now I gotta ask. why the purple tint to her right eye?
looks little missmatched to her other one as far as color goes.

is it with the glasses themself or something in teh background?

I think it was the combo of the angle and flash hitting her glasses. Very strong prescription. None of the other pics I took have that.
Anyone find 1/200 shows a curtian on the 5d2?

purple is the coating of the glasses " multi coated Lens " is what we call it here in the P.I.

I would suggest adding a hair light to separate the black BG and the hair :D nice sharp photo :D

Have my second speedlight coming in the mail tomorrow. No hairlights till then. How would I place one though to effectivly work in this shot?

if main light is at cam right then hair light would usually go cam left back.

What wireless triggers?

I did have a few shots at 1/200th where I had a really tiny border at the bottom. Wouldn't have made a difference for this shot, interesting non the less (RF-602) triggers. The 7D syncs to 1/250th without any issues.

The positioning comments aerosmith left sound right to me. One thing i've found useful to avoid getting flare from the hairlight is to make a snoot from that black 'fun foam' material that they have at the craft store. I got mine at joann fabrics and it was less than $2. You could use tape or velcro to form it into a tube and then some type of elastic to hold it to the flash. It really helps to get the light right where you want it and nowhere you don't.
