Looks like I have pink eye.. how to disinfect my 50D?

Title pretty much explains it all. I'll spare you the nasty details. I was just wondering what the best way to disinfect the eyepiece and maybe the rest of the back side of the camera too without damaging anything. I wont use my camera until I'm better. My husband thinks one of those germ killing wipe things would work. Would something like that be safe?

Isopropyl alcohol would be my choice. Lysol-type stuff will leave a residue.

Ok.. I'll try that. I'll pick some up after I go to the doctor's office.

I would also think that setting it out in the sun for a little while would also work.

Ask the doctor about it. If they think sunlight and air will be enough, then just go with that. If you try applying any kind of liquid, go with a barely damp cloth which you toss after one pass, then repeat a couple of times. You don't want to give too much liquid a chance to seep inside. I'd be leery about using bleach though as the salts could do their own kind of damage.

I wont put bleach anywhere near my camera. I may try some alcohol depending on what the doctor says.
