I have iPhoto and have also downloaded the trial of Aperture. I also have Photoshop CS4 and will probably be using it for most "major" work. With that in mind, do you think that Aperture would be worth the upgrade over iPhoto for "general" work?

Both Aperture and Lightroom have free trials for you to see. Different people will prefer different workflows. I've used all three and like Lightroom the best.

What would you like your photo manager to do?

I'm a huge fan of iPhoto. It is a fantastic product and really great for just general management through to enthusiasts. It has a lot of the main features ofthe big boys.

That said I moved to aperture 3 when it came out and it is loads better. Better editing tools, better management tools and much more configurable.
