just curious. I know I prolly wont change anything but...

you always see people say "PM'd", "replied" blah blah...

is there no faith in the PM system? as long as you sent to the right person their going to get it. and if their buying/selling something I'm sure their aware to check their box.

I know for me anyway the default setting brings a pop-up saying I got a new PM, so its hard to miss. and if you changed that setting you should know to just look and see that bold notification of a new message

thoughts?

Just letting everyone else know I suppose.

I think this is the case. And there's the fact that people may well turn off the PM pop-up notification (I did so shortly after joining many years ago).

I think its because some wrongly think that if they are the first to post that in a thread they are first in line for the item up for sale.....

The seller will post that he has replied to PMs (whether he has or not ;-)a )to bump his thread.

Yeah I know from other forums I am on, that a buyers will do that to make sure the seller checks his PM's. Not everyone has the "pop-up" turned on or even pay attention to that up in the upper righthand side of their screen. Sellers will do it to "bump" there tread back up to the top.

You'll notice that the sort order in the Sell section negates any attempt to bump threads.

If you are on other forums you would know the answer to your question.

By saying all that worthless stuff not only gives the OP a free bump, but it also brings it back to the top of the page for fresher users.

I would have to agree. since there are people that just PM and dont post about it. they could of PM'd before the guy that made it public that he did
