I see alot of computer equipment listed in the for sale section. and I'll admit I accidently listed something one time.

since this seems to happen alot, my suggestion is to have it say "NO COMPUTER EQUIPMENT PLEASE" in the TITLE of a sticky, instead of "buried" in the list of rules

now I know what your thinking, why not "just" click on the rules and read them right? I'll tell you why..

some people like me are registered on ALOT of forums and do our best to keep up with all the rules

computer equipment is closely related to camera stuff and I'm sure people are meaning no harm when they go to post it for sale

so thats really it. maybe just put it in the topic of a sticky so it stands out a little more. if not then fine wont bother me.

I know if wont 100% cure the issue, I just dont see how it could hurt

What about the next rule nobody reads? Should that be made a sticky too? That way we would end up with having the first 5 pages consisting just of stickies about rules.

I am sorry to say so but being registered on many forums is NO excuse for not reading/following the rules.

I was only trying to help since it seems to be a common thing

I know. And you know what I had a problem finding the specific rule you refer to :o (yes really embarassing, fortunately we have Skip who knows all the rules by heart  ) so maybe what we need to do is cleanup the stickies and rules.

Actually, most basic computer stuff is fully acceptable, since you need a motherboard, monitor, processor, operating system, memory, graphics card, mouse/tablet, and application software to process your photos. Color printers are also OK, as are networking accessories. However webcams, gaming accessories like joysticks, and other computer peripherals that don't really have a direct photographic usefulness aren't. Likewise, cell phones and cell phone accessories, stand-alone GPS units, gaming consoles and other electronic (or otherwise) bits of gear with only a secondary, tenuous, photographic applicability aren't acceptable. If you want a detailed list of everything that can be offered in the Marketplace, it isn't going to happen. Things change, and a list of what's acceptable now would be out of date next week. Common sense is the key.
