I asked about this in another thread, but this is probably a better place to ask yet another bag question! Like many of you, I have a collection of bags at this point, and all of them are either too large or too small for this combination, and I'm wondering what other alternatives are out there.

I'd like a bag that can hold the 1d3/1d4 with a 200 f2 or 300 f2.8 mounted with hood reversed PLUS another lens like the 16-35 or 24-70 (even better if it would hold the 70-200 f2.8). The Thinktank Glass Taxi looks very similar on the inside to my Lowepro Flipside 300, with almost no room after inserting this body/lens combo. I'm not looking for some huge bag, preferably a backpack style, that will accommodate this combination with reasonable padding and sturdiness. Thanks.

You'll need a huge bag for that.

That Lowepro compu-trekker/mini-trekker looks like exactly what I was thinking about. Is the compu-trekker the same thing as the mini-trekker, or are these two different bags? It figures that I'd have like a half dozen or so Lowepro bags but never looked at these!

Oh, and in the compu-trekker/mini-trekker picture, is that the 200 f2 mounted on the camera? If so, will the 300 f2.8 fit in the same position? Looks like it would be a little tight for the 300 f2.8 if that's the 200 f2 on the camera.

I have both bags and the are the same size. The CT has a laptop sleeve. That is the 300mm lens showing in my photos. Hope this helps.

Are there different versions of the mini trekker? When I did a search, I found references to what looked like different versions (sizes). The mini trekker AW appears to suit me best. I could carry either the 200 f2 or 300 f2.8 mounted on the 1d4 plus the 70-200, extenders, and a flash.

I did find that if I remove everything from inside my Lowepro Flipside 300, I can fit the 200 f2 mounted on my 1d4 with room for the 1.4 and 2.0 extenders (or a smaller lens), but that's about it.

The Think Tank Streetwalker Pro will hold a 1D w/300 2.8 IS mounted, a 70-200 2.8, a 24-70, a 16-35 (or a 1.4x & 2.0x TC) and a flash (plus a couple of batteries, filters, etc. in the outside pockets).

The only thing that doesn't fit well in the above configuration is the 16-35 hood - all of the other hoods need to be reversed.

The flash fits on top of the 70-200.
You can also lay the 16-35 on it's side and put the 2 TC's on top of it.

Sorry for the bad picture quality. I took it with one of my best cameras - my iphone :)

Both the Lowepro Mini-trekker and Thinktank Streetwalker Pro look to be just about exactly what I'm looking for, and they look to be almost exactly the same size inside, according to these pictures. Anyone ever done a side-by-side comparison (pros/cons) of these two bags? Are they really as close in size as they appear to be in these pictures? Thanks again.

I don't think that you will get that all in the Mini Trekker. I would look at the Vertex series maybe the 200 would work.

The Think Tank looks to be narrower than the Mini Trekker but a little taller (the depth looks similar on both bags). I'm pretty happy with the Think Tank so far.

I keep staring at these two bags, the mini trekker and streetwalker pro, trying to decide which one will more easily hold the following: 300 f2.8 mounted on the 1d3, 70-200 f2.8, 16-35, 50L, and maybe the 1.4 TC....and at times swap a lens like the 16-35 or 50L for the 580EX flash. It sounds like both bags are pretty highly regarded (streetwalker gets slightly better reviews), and the prices aren't too far off. I'm having a hard time deciding which way to go. If anyone has a way to sway me one way or the other, speak up! Thanks.
