inexpensive yet quality compact camera to capture backgrounds for composites?

I am getting into image compositing at a commercial level and would like to purchase a compact camera to carry with me at all times to capture backgrounds. I honestly want to spend as little as possible, yet have a nice image low in noise. FYI: In post it'll probably be thrown slightly OOF or processed a bit.

I shoot with a disposable Dora the Explorer camera
I have a special 18-55mm lens made from tree bark and unicorn farts
I start uncontrollable fires for my lighting

Check out the Canon PowerShot A1100, on sale at WalMart for $129.

Or for something a little better, the Kodak EasyShare Z915 at Office Depot.

IMO - Canon makes great P&S. Check some reviews, consumersearch.com recomends the A1100.
