Slope style with the 70-200 F2.8L

The shutter was at 1/1000 for the first one and it still doesnt look sharp for being sharp at f/8. Are these heavily cropped by any chance?

I didnt do any crop or processing in these shots. Most of the time with me I leave it alone and almost never crop. The images look a lot better when I veiw them straight up. PB I think makes them look a little soft.
