I use a peice of gray ripstop nylon thats pretty close. Works good enough to minimize the amount of correction required later, you can use it to keep stuff dry if you have a big enough peice, or blow your nose on it if it is necessary. the stuff sells by the yard at the yarn barn, cut it with a soldering iron or it wil fray at the edges, make about twenty and when you forget them in your pocket, they will collect on top of your dryer like mine do, put a couple in the camera case, tie one to your strap, they're everywhere, they're everywhere!

How much does a grey card cost?

Mine cost about a penny. Just make sure that you expose the first shot of a series on the meter & you can use that image to correct the rest of that series.
Gray Card…White Paper. What’s best?

Forgive me for my ignorance, but I really need to get the hang of this now :p

When some of you say that I should place a grey card in my shot and then adjust my other pictures with that one, how do you mean? Are you talking about post processing WB when shot in RAW, where you can use the "click balance" feature (for now I only use Digital Photo Professional for RAW)?

Any of you know any good articles or threads on WB from scratch?

That's the idea. But remember what I said in post #3, so if you have the time to set it while you're shooting, (& it only takes 20 seconds), then that's my recommendation.
