Stan & Mark, you both have some great Mt Evans images. That's a place I really want to get to someday soon. Hopefully even this year, especially if I could combine it with a trip to RMNP.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.

I've been up there in July and again in August. It was like spring and fall, I couldn't believe the change in a month or so. "Spring" is prettier, but the goats look better in "fall". To the best of my knowledge, the road to Mt. Evans summit opens Memorial day weekend. This is somewhat weather dependent, but that the usual. To me, you have the best chance of seeing "clean" goats the earlier you go. Last year, we went the first weekend in June and got good shots of adults, but saw no kids. The year before we went the 3rd week of June and saw several. I suspect they around earlier, we just didn't see any that trip. Dress for cold weather, it's 14,130 ft at the top. Mark

There are times the the 300 is perfect and it definitely is sharper. I also have the 400f/5.6 which is my go to lens for birds in flight and whenever I don't need the flexibility of the the zoom. Along with the 24-105L and 70-200f/4IS I have about everything covered. The other factor is my wife is my photographic partner and we share lenses, so we really need them all! There is no budget for the 500L's etc, so this selection will have to work. I would probably get one more 70-200L if I could and perhaps an 18-135 to replace our aging 28-135 and I think we will be set! Mark
